As someone who’s a little bit older and a little bit wiser, Joe Jonas is ready to help Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber sort out their problems — maybe not as a couple, but at least as young celebrities who are just getting their land legs after successfully surviving child stardom.
And while Selena is having a bit of an easier time navigating the murky waters of Hollywood than Justin Bieber (at least, judging by Justin’s police records), we think they both could benefit from a little advice — even if it is coming from a guy whose tell-all essay stirred up more drama than Miley Cyrus at the VMAs.
So what’s Joe’s advice? “Something that I learned heard from someone I looked up to was, ‘watch the people around you and learn from their mistakes so you don’t make the same,’” the former Jonas Brother told E! OnlineSaturday. “I just held on to that and any time I saw a celebrity I really looked up to screw up, I just was like ‘all right, I am not going to do that or try my best ability to avoid that’ so it’s just a learning tool.”
Considering the fact that Justin seems unable to learn from his own mistakes, we’re not so sure this is advice he’ll be willing to take. But we can dream!
And as for Selena, Joe’s still a fan. “Her career has been great and she is going to succeed,” Joe said. “I want her to succeed and I want her to be happy!”
