We haven't heard a lot about Deena Nicole Cortese's post-Jersey Shore projects, but that doesn't mean that the tiny reality star doesn't have something in the works. In fact, she's been hard at work developing her voice, and now she's almost ready to show the world her talent with two new songs.
Wetpaint Entertainment caught up with Deena on Friday, February 21 at JWOWW's birthday party at Big Ang's Drunken Monkey bar in Staten Island (sponsored by Shutterball), and the reality star dished about her budding music career.
"I've doing voice lessons for a year and a half," she explained. She made it clear that she doesn't want to be just another reality star turning out bad music. "I don't want to release anything until I'm 100 percent ready. I don't want to be the 'reality star trying.' I want to be the reality star that did it."
In fact, Deena explained that she was initially hesitant to pursue music, but her Jersey Shore housemates encouraged her after hearing her vocal chops around the house. "Jenni was always the first person to be like, 'do it, do it, do it!' And I'm finally doing it!"
So what kind of music can you expect from Deena? "It's pop rock. Very emotional music. Music people can relate to. It's kind of like Pink, very pretty," she told us.
Oh, and just in case you don't believe it when Deena says she wants to do this right, she added: "No autotune. None of that sh*t."
While Deena emphasized that she's waiting to get things right, she also dished that we could be hearing a song from her "probably within the next two months."
