On Game of Thrones, Jack Gleeson plays the sadistic boy-king Joffrey Baratheon, but unlike his character on the show, Jack seems like a pretty cool guy IRL, as evidenced by this Youtube interview he did with University College Dublin.
During the interview, Jack is asked a number of questions relating to Joffrey, including one that gets a great response: Is there anything Joffrey wouldn’t do? After all, we’ve seen Joffrey show his betrothed her father’s head on a spike, force women to beat each other, and murder a woman with a crossbow while she was crucified in his bedroom, so it seems to us like he wouldn’t scoff at much.
In answer to the question of what Joff would never do, Jack gives a very honest answer, stating, “I don’t know... he can do whatever he wants, you know. I suppose, do something for the poor, perhaps. Yeah, he’d never really do that... Not the most altruistic fellow.” And the award for understatement of the year goes to... Jack Gleeson!
Cleary, Joff doesn’t have an altruistic bone in his body, and we think it’s pretty funny Jack considers an act of charity to be the only thing Joffrey would never consider doing, despite his new fiance’s pesky habit of mingling with the poor.If you’d like to see what else Jack thinks of Joffrey, you can check out the entire interview here.
