Once again, The Originals and Supernatural have combined to deliver huge numbers for The CW, giving the network its most-watched Tuesday in more than five years. Season 1, Episode 11 (“Apres Moi, le Déluge”) of the Vampire Diaries spin-off was a thrilling hour, with Davina (Danielle Campbell) opting to sacrifice herself in order to complete the Harvest Festival, to much chagrin. But just how good were the ratings? Read on to find out!
Per a press release from The CW, The Originals had its most-watched episode to-date, bringing in 2.5 million viewers, up 22 percent from the previous week, which coincidentally was the midseason premiere. Not only did it bring in a ton of viewers, but it matched its season-high in the key demo, increasing 22 percent over last week there as well.
Combining the numbers from The Originals and Supernatural, the CW had the second-most watched night of the 2013-2014 TV season, second only to October 16, 2013. Oh, and did we mention that The Originals ranked No. 2 in it’s time period for female teens? Basically these fans are the best.
We’re wracking our brains trying to figure out if there’s some way to bring Davina come back from the dead and for the Harvest Festival to be completed. With Celeste hogging all the witchy power, things are looking pretty grim for the Mikaelsons in the coming weeks.
And hey, at least The CW knows that killing off teenage witches equals amazing ratings. RIP, Davina! Are you glad The Originals scored big in the ratings? Hit the comments and let us know what you think about the episode!
