If you’re a parent — you know that overnight teenagers won’t like you anymore — you’re not cool, you’re a pain in the neck.
That happened to Wendy Williams recently with her 13-year-old son, Kevin, but what’s different from Wendy and your mom and my mom — is that she went on TV talked about it and started crying.
She said that Kevin is pulling away from her and bonding with his dad and keeps asking Wendy why she’s always “pissed off?” Wendy was obviously heartbroken.
But earlier this week, the daytime talk show host went on The View and says there’s a happy ending.
“It was Martin Luther King Day and he was off from school so he was up in his dad’s office. His dad is one of the executive producers at my show. And he came down to my dressing room and was like, ‘Mommy, I love you. You are so cool.’ And I’m trying to disrobe and he’s like, ‘Mommy, I don’t have time to leave the room. I need to say this to you now so you understand.’ So I say, ‘Kevin, this is the thing. I guess I just got emotional over something I probably should’ve shared with you earlier.’
Wendy said Kevin also made her a homemade card with the five things he loves most about her:
I can guarantee that made her cry all over again.
