Sandra Oh (Cristina Yang) leaving Grey’s Anatomy is sad enough on its own, so we’re crossing all our fingers and all our toes the way that she exits the show isn’t sad, too. Okay, saying goodbye to Cristina will be hard, no matter what the circumstances — but we’d way rather see her leave Seattle for an awesome new job and not, you know, dead.
And Sandra is totally in agreement with us.
“I don’t want my character to die,” Sandra admitted in an interview with On The Red Carpet. “But we don’t know.”
They know now, though. According to Sandra, she and creator Shonda Rhimes were set to have The Big Discussion about Cristina’s fate this Monday at 11:30 a.m. Um, excuse me, is there any way we could be looped in next time a big decision like this is being made? We feel we have some very valuable input to contribute to the show in cases like these.
But no matter what Sandra and Shonda decided, we’ll try to trust is the best way to go. Even if we hate the idea of Sandra leaving in the first place.
How do you think Cristina should bow out? Sound off below!
