Our full recounting ofSeason 10, Episode 3 of Grey's Anatomy — which aired earlier tonight, October 3 — is forthcoming. But here's a brief summary of the action.
Richard (James Pickens Jr.) is recovering, but slowly and painfully. He's the worst patient Bailey (Chandra Wilson) could ask for, not accepting the intrusive treatments he knows he needs. Shane (Gaius Charles) finally defies his instructions and provides the proper care. Meredith (Ellen Pompeo), who is starving for sleep, stumbles into the hospital when she hears of Richard's struggles. But he tells her that he only made her his advocate because he thought that she wouldn't be swayed by emotion. Now he's upset that she didn't let him die.
Meanwhile, the outpatient surgical wing is a disaster zone — literally — having been severely damaged in the superstorm. Owen (Kevin McKidd) needs the board to figure out a game plan for the budget, but the board members are dragging their feet, so Owen finally fools the board into meeting, with Jackson (Jesse Williams) announcing that they'll hold a fundraiser.
Jo (Camilla Luddington) is freaking out because Alex (Justin Chambers), for whatever reason, hasn't had sex with her. After trying to clue him in with subtle hints, she finally confronts him about it, and he carries her to the bedroom.
Check back here tomorrow. We'll have the full recap up faster than you can cut a clavicle.
