Three month old Axl Jack may not know how to swim yet, but Fergie and Josh Duhamel’s pride and joy took a dip in the holy water at his baptism Thursday.
According to People, the couple and some of their closest family members celebrated the occasion with a ceremony at the St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church in Brentwood, California.
“Baby Axl wore all white and seemed very calm about being baptized,” a witness to the baptism said. “He didn’t cry at all.”
Mom and Dad must be so proud!
“They seemed happy when they left the church,” the witness added. “Axl had fallen asleep in his dad’s arms and he looked adorable.”
Daddy Josh is already looking forward to Axl’s first Christmas — and beyond that, the holidays to come in the future when Axl is old enough to understand what’s going on! “I’m loving it,” Josh said of his first holiday season as a father. “I look forward to many more. I can’t wait for him to tear through gifts. It won’t be this year.”
And although he hasn’t quite reached letter-to-Santa status, Josh loves to think he’s smart for his age.
“He’s rolling over and smiling,” Josh added. “He’s a sturdy little kid now, he’s not so much of a blob anymore.”
