You know those days when you just don’t want to get out of bed? You know those days when you don’t feel like talking to anyone? You know when you feel like staring blankly into space?
You know when those things all coincide with an appearance you’re supposed to make on live TV?
No, probably not, but Eminem does!
Marshall Mathers, back on the scene with some freshly bleached hair and some new insults ready to spew, made an appearance on ESPN to promote his new single, “Berzerk,” which was recently named the official song of Saturday Night Football, and it quickly became evident that he’s either a master of subversive performance art, or he just really, really hates doing his own press.
From the beginning of his segment, during which Em just kind of stares into space, it’s clear something weird is going on. “Live TV freaks me out a little bit,” he explains to interviewers Brent Musberger and Kirk Herbstreit, following a few seconds of dead-eyed rocking.
He follows this up by telling the nice football gentlemen that “nothing” excites him about his upcoming album. After a moment, he rethinks his answer, adding, “I'll probably be most excited to be done with it.”
Oh, Eminem, never change.
