Julia Roberts and her half-sister Nancy Motes were known to have a contentious relationship. But was it so bad it drove the 37-year-old to suicide?
RumorFix has spoken to the LA County Coroner’s Office who confirms that Motes did leave behind a suicide note at the scene where she was found dead on Sunday.
Motes was found dead in the bathtub of an LA home where she was pet sitting on Sunday afternoon. The LA Coroner’s office examined her body on Monday and is awaiting toxicology test results before determining the official cause of death but reports from inside the scene indicated it Motes may have overdosed on pills.
According to the New York Daily News, the five page note found by an EMT at the scene included “Three pages of rantings that her sister drove her to do this. There was one page to her mom, telling her how much she loved her, and one page apologizing to her fiancé (John Dilbeck).”
Motes — who shares a mother with the 46-year-old Oscar winner — had been posting desperate messages on her Twitter account over the last several months, including one on January 19 where she wrote “So my ‘sister’ said that with all her friends & fans she doesn’t need any more love. Just so you all know ‘America’s Sweetheart” is a B*TCH!!’” The account has since been deleted.
Roberts did not attend the Monday Oscar nominee luncheon and has cancelled an upcoming appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live following the loss of her sister.
