“Octomom” Nadya Suleman could be heading form the poor house to the big house.
The mother of 14 has been charged with welfare fraud by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office. They allege she failed disclose over $30,000 in income while on public aid.
Suleman was charged in a complained filed January 6 with one count of aid by misrepresentation and two counts of perjury by false application. The DA’s office tells RumorFix she could face up to five years and eight months in prison if convicted on all charges.
The notorious mom gained fame in 2009 when she gave birth to octuplets. That was on top of the six kids she already had, all of which were conceived via in vitro fertilization.
She apparently received $16,481 in welfare payments during the first six months of 2013 but did not disclose that she was getting checks for personal appearances and residuals during that time.
The 38-year-old has tried to support herself in a number of ways including a self-pleasuring porn video, guest appearances at strip clubs, recording a raunchy sex song, celebrity boxing and writing a parenting column. None of the ventures has met with much success.
