Everyone associates The Voice coach Shakira with Latin music but, many times, we seem to forget fellow coach Christina Aguilera’s Latin heritage. Fortunately for her, Billboard didn’t forget. According to her website, the “Say Something” singer is up for an impressive three Billboard Latin Music Awards when the show airs on Telemundo on April 24.
While Romeo Santos leads the charge –– nabbing 17 nominations, according to Billboard.com –– 3 for the gorgeous pop diva is still more than impressive. And, with her contestants faring very well this past season, a newly svelte body, a steady man in her life, and an adorable son, we’d say all things are coming up Xtina. Of course, being in the spotlight means Christina’s life is bound to be grist for the rumor mill –– including the most recent (and likely untrue!) innuendo that she’s pregnant with her second child.
Christina has some stiff competition in the “Crossover Artist of the Year” category, going up against Rihanna, Bruno Mars, and Robin Thicke. Shakira is up for “Social Artist of the Year,” facing the likes of Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias, and Prince Royce.
When you think of Christina, do you think of a Latin artist? Why or why not? Sound off in the comments!
