We know he’s tough as iron in the kitchen, but does superstar chef Gordon Ramsay have what it takes to compete in the grueling Ironman Triathlon in Hawaii?
He sure does. The 46-year-old completed one of sports’ most grueling challenges in a time of 14 hours, 4 minutes and 48 seconds.
The event features three intense legs, a 2.4-mile ocean swim, a 112-mile bike ride and a marathon — a 26.2 mile run.
Just being allowed to compete is an honor. Out of 80,000 applicants less than 2,000 are accepted to compete.
Ramsay has already completed the London Marathon and several other smaller triathlon challenges. But Hawaii’s Ironman is the grandaddy of all triathlons so a major congrats go out to Gordon for this impressive accomplishment!
