No bones about it — FOX has a surefire fan favorite on its hands. The network announced on January 29 that it had renewed Bones for a 10th season.
Bones follows the forensic anthropology/archaeology team at the Jeffersonian Institute Medico-Legal Lab, focusing on the work of and romance between Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan (Emily Deschanel) and FBI Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz).
Though the comedic crime procedural’s ratings peaked in Seasons 4 and 5, the show still holds down respectable numbers, which is no small feat for a series of its tenure.
And — in even better news — FOX is moving the series from Fridays back to Mondays starting March 10!
"Over the course of nine seasons, Bones has grown from a hit crime procedural into a beloved pillar of our lineup that resonates with fans in a way that only the best of shows can," says FOX chairman Kevin Reilly in a statement. "Our viewers have embraced Emily, David, and the entire cast and characters of Bones as their very own, and I think they are going to love what [creator] Hart Hanson and [executive producer] Stephen Nathan have planned for Season 10!"We'll be there!
