The rumor mill always seems to have The Voice coach Blake Shelton and wife Miranda Lambertat each other’s necks when the truth is, they’re more like neck and neck — in the music industry, that is. The two country singers are no strangers to award nominations and this year’s Academy of Country Music Awards are no exception.
But who, pray tell, has more nominations — Blake or Miranda? According to USA Today, the bedimpled coach is playing second fiddle to his wife, as Miranda has seven nominations to Blake’s five … not that five is all that shabby!
While Blake may not have as many nominations as his lovely wife, he’s still at the helm when it comes to the night’s events. For the second year in a row, Blake will be co-hosting the show, which takes place on April 6, with Luke Bryan.
We’re definitely rooting for this country power couple’s long-term success, and we hope they are as happy together as they seem based on some recent tweets. This will be crucial on the night of the Academy of Country Music Awards, as the two go head-to-head in three categories: Entertainer of the Year, Vocal Event of the Year, and Song of the Year.
Considering Miranda will also be Blake’s competition on The Voice in the spring season — having been named as a mentor on Team Shakira — these two are no stranger to cheering on one another’s wins and lamenting the other’s losses.
What do you think — can this couple survive when they seem to be in constant competition with one another in the music “biz”? Sound off in the comments!Source: USA Today
