She already has one Oscar for her best supporting actress role in Girl, Interrupted, but is Angelina Jolie about to receive another statuette?
That would be a definite yes.
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences – a.k.a. AMPAS, the folks who run the Oscars – announced Tuesday that the actress would be receiving their prestigious Jean Hersholt Humanitarian award this year for her tireless work on behalf of refugees and humanitarian causes.
At 38 years old, Jolie will also be the youngest recipient of the honor.
The Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, also an Oscar statuette, is given “to an individual in the motion picture industry whose humanitarian efforts have brought credit to the industry.”
Congratulations and very much deserved Angelina!
