If there’s anything we’ve learned from watching years of American Idol, it’s that Hollywood Week is not to be taken lightly. Grueling rehearsals, clashing personalities, and the possibility of your dreams crashing down around you all lead to a pretty stressful environment for the eager contestants.
That said, some of the hopefuls seem more than ready to take the live Idol stage, including 21-year-old Jillian Jensen. We first met the brunette beauty back in Boston auditions where she wowed the judges with her soulful rendition of Gavin DeGraw’s “Not Over You.” Since then, the former X Factor competitor has worked her way up the ranks, proving time and again that she’s got the talent to sing for America’s votes.
When Hollywood Week returns on February 12, Jill takes the stage with an original number. “The reason I decided to do this song today is because I wanted to show you guys exactly who I am as an artist,” Jill explains. “I think the point of American Idol isn’t just to find the winner of this year, it’s supposed to find someone that can continue on in the industry and have longevity. I’m a writer and that’s what I do.”
