The holidays are supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year, but sadly that hasn’t been the case for former American Idol contestant Josh Holiday. The Season 12 competitor took to Facebook on December 30 to share some heartbreaking news about his family.
“My youngest brother Jordan Casey Wright passed away in a car accident this morning,” Josh wrote on Monday. “He was only 16 years old. I hate this numbing pain that my family and I are experiencing right now, but a good friend of mine just told me that God is strongest when we are weakest.”
Since being eliminated from Season 12 during Las Vegas rounds, Josh has gone on to pursue a career in contemporary Christian music. Though his faith has always been an enormous part of his life, Josh is calling upon it now more than ever to help guide him through this tragedy.
“Here I am as weak as I've ever been asking for strength in the name of Jesus as we walk through this deep, deep valley during this dark, midnight hour,” Josh continued. “Though last night felt like hell on earth, I still have faith that joy will come in the morning.”
Our hearts go out to Josh and family, and we hope they can find peace.
