The trainwreck that was once Amanda Bynes' life seems to have come to a complete halt, thanks to some quick work on the part of her parents and caseworkers, and it looks as though the troubled star may truly be on the mend.
Since having her psychiatric hold extended, Amanda has reportedly had a huge breakthrough in her treatment. TMZ reports that the Easy A star is experiencing a flood of emotions since doctors got her on a cocktail of medications that seems to be working.
The actress, who is reportedly being treated for schizophrenia, has been experiencing crying jags over the past week — apparently a good sign, as some schizophrenics show little to no emotional response at all. Amanda has also reportedly been opening up to nurses at the facility where she's being held, telling them about her plans for the future and — stop us if you've heard this one before — saying she doesn't need to stay there for further treatment.
While it remains to be seen what issues, if any, will arise from Amanda missing her court date on Friday, or if she will be kept for the additional 30 days the facility can hold her for, it does sound as though things are definitely looking up for Amanda.
At the very least, the good people of Manhattan and Thousand Oaks are thankful for the restful nights her time out has provided.
