George Clooney is well known for his love of Cabo San Lucas. The seaside Mexican resort town is a short flight from LA and he’s been going there ever since we can remember.
But in 2009 he and close pals Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber decided to literally make the place their home, building seaside mansions on adjoining lots.
“We saw this oceanfront lot and thought maybe it made sense to build something,” Gerber tells Architectural Digest in their upcoming cover story. The pals – and now business partners with their Casamigos tequila brand – wanted a getaway of their own for friends and family to share.
According to the magazine “Each structure is entered via a long hallway that flows gracefully into a dramatic double-height central courtyard, which connects to a series of sitting areas, dining spaces, an open kitchen, and, of course, a bar—an especially roomy one at Clooney’s, where the friends often assemble to watch sports on the wide-screen TV. And fronting the beach, each house has its own sizable swimming pool and terrace, as well as ample outdoor seating and dining areas.”
Now we know why they spend so much time down there. We would too with a place like this.
