Topic: Are You Reading Between the Lines? Speaker: Jeremy Marx ( Twitter | Blog ) Most of us go about our SQL days happily reading nothing but consistent, committed data. Or are we? Join me as I take you on a journey through concurrency, ACID, isolation levels, and something called Preventable Read Phenomena. You'll be surprised that not all is as you read it.In this talk we'll focus on isolation levels and how they affect multiple transactions accessing the same data simultaneously, as well as keeping data consistent. You'll leave with a better understanding of the trade-offs between guaranteed consistency and complete concurrency, what phenomena to look for in the middle, how to navigate it all, and why you probably shouldn't.Jeremy Marx loves data. Maybe not in the same way as he loves his wife and son, but he has a passion for working with data, analyzing and profiling it, manipulating it, moving it, protecting it. Jeremy works for Kenneth Hagin Ministries as their SQL Server expert: Accidental DBA, Integration Specialist and Architect. He also loves the SQL Server community, having discovered it alongside SQL Server nearly 8 years ago. Attendee 0.00
