The Tulsa Chapter of the IIA, in support of the Tulsa ACL User Group, will once again offer ACL training; “Continuous Assurance Using ACL” Learning objectives:Best practices for ACL.How to implement modular scripting, especially as it relates to Loading FilesWrite limited intelligence into the projectUtilize Dialog boxes, error traps, dual purpose scripting.Write exceptions, processing, supervisory, informational, and delta reports. Program Level: Advanced CPE(s): 24 Cost: $750 Program Level: This course is appropriate for Auditors, Audit Seniors, Audit Managers, IT auditors and any accountant who wishes to utilize ACL to develop a continuous audit or continuous monitoring program.  Prerequisites: Completion of an advanced ACL Scripts and Functions class that is comparable to ACL’s 303 class and/or experience writing ACL scripts. Users should be familiar with ACL functions and commands. Familiarity with the IMPORT command and data normalization techniques will be helpful. Advance preparation/delivery method: This is an instructor led classroom setting group. Users are expected to provide their own laptop computers with ACL version 9.1 or greater. (Educational versions of ACL are available with some books.) Porter Broyles is known for being a strong advocate of best practices and standardization within the ACL community. He has developed some of the most comprehensive policies and procedures related to the tool. These guidelines were developed as a result of his writing some of the most advanced scripts developed outside of ACL itself. Some of Porter’s projects have incorporated over 90 scripts and over 300 pages of coding. Today, Porter is one of the best known ACL users in the world: He was the second person ever identified as an ACL “Super User”—the first being David Coderre.In 2007, ACL featured Porter in their “Seven Habits of Highly Effective Auditors” campaign.Porter was the founder and original president of the TexasACL user group.He runs the TexasACL website which is the best independent source of independent information on ACL.He was a featured speaker at the 2008 ACL Annual Conference in Vancouver. Because of the demand for his presentation, he was asked to give it twice.He was the keynote speaker at the 2009 ACL Annual Conference in San Francisco.He was a keynote speaker at a 2011 Business Assurance Symposium sponsored by ACL in Houston.In 2012, he gave a webinar for ACL. These webinar’s typically attracted 40-50 users, but because of his reputation, over 368 people signed up for the course representing 270+ organizations.
