Available Seats: 8Encaustic collage is a process that uses beeswax medium as an adhesive. Participants will incorporate collage elements such as handmade paper, fabric, and text within translucent layers of medium to give the work a sense of depth that alters the illusion of space in a way that is unique to this process. Participants will become familiar with basic encaustic materials, tools and procedures, learn how to make their own encaustic medium, choose the proper substrate, and better understand both the outstanding range of this medium as well as its limitations.
